Join us to hear Ricky Ross talk about his long and successful portfolio career as the founder of one of Scotland’s best-loved bands, Deacon Blue, and as a solo artist, writer and broadcaster with TV and radio presenter Bryan Burnett.
One of the finest songwriters and lyricists of his generation, Ricky has written hits not only for Deacon Blue but also for world-famous artists including James Blunt, Ronan Keating, Jamie Cullum & Nanci Griffith. As a popular broadcaster, his weekly shows on BBC Radio Scotland include ‘Another Country ‘ and ‘Sunday Morning’, while he also regularly appears on BBC TV presenting Celtic Connections, and on Radio 2, standing in for Bob Harris & Dermot O’Leary.
Later this year, following the publication of his book, ‘The Lyrics of Ricky Ross’, he will tour throughout the UK. And in a brand new venture, Ricky has composed a set of original songs for the Citizens Theatre’s upcoming production “The Choir”: a musical play, set in Wishaw, about a group of strangers who come together- not always willingly- to sing in a community choir.
